Sex on the Beach.
A bright, crowd-pleasing long drink that blends the sweetness of peach schnapps with vodka, fresh orange juice and cranberry — fruity, refreshing and perfectly sessionable. The vivid pink-orange gradient and easy flavor profile have made it one of the world's most ordered cocktails since the late 1980s.
Backstory & Character
"Created in 1987 by bartender Ted Pizio in Florida as a promotional vehicle for a newly launched peach schnapps brand. Pizio is said to have offered a free bottle of schnapps to whichever bar customer could invent the most creative cocktail with the spirit — the provocative winning name was designed to attract attention and boost sales. The cocktail became a global bar staple throughout the 1980s and 1990s."
The Method

Step by Step
Build over ice in a Collins glass. Pour in the vodka, then the peach schnapps, followed by the fresh orange juice and cranberry juice. Stir gently once to combine. Garnish with an orange slice wheel on the rim and a Maraschino cherry. Serve with a straw.
