Step by Step
Gently muddle fresh mint leaves with simple syrup at the bottom of a julep cup — press lightly to release the oils without tearing the leaves. Pack the cup tightly with crushed ice. Pour bourbon over the ice and stir gently until the outside of the cup frosts. Top with more crushed ice. Garnish with a generous mint bouquet.
